Feral Flourish is an expressive handwritten script font designed by David, capturing the charm and individuality of authentic penmanship. With its flowing strokes, playful loops, delicate flourishes, and naturally imperfect letterforms, this typeface brings a personal, nostalgic touch to modern creative projects.
Inspired by the designer’s own handwriting, Feral Flourish was developed from real handwritten samples and carefully transformed into a versatile digital font. Rather than following the rigid structure of traditional calligraphy, it embraces the subtle variations and spontaneous movements that make handwritten text feel genuine.
The font has a distinctive vintage character reminiscent of personal letters, journals, and handwritten notes from the 1970s and 1980s. Its relaxed rhythm, wandering ascenders, and elegant curves create an appealing balance between old-fashioned charm and contemporary usability.
Feral Flourish also includes contextual alternates, ligatures, multiple letterforms, punctuation variations, and extended character coverage. These features help reduce repetitive letter patterns, allowing words and sentences to appear more organic and naturally written.
Whether you’re designing book covers, wedding invitations, editorial layouts, personal stationery, film and theater props, or nostalgic branding materials, Feral Flourish offers a distinctive handwritten aesthetic. It is especially suitable for projects that call for warmth, character, creativity, and a subtle sense of nostalgia.
