It was created as a sign of unwavering admiration for the persistence of heavy metal culture. The angular font, with almost fixed width proportions, combines uppercase and lowercase letters for greater variety and definition of individual letters. The emphasis on horizontal strokes has toned down the historical gothic character and emphasized a more modern signature, which is very different from the majority of current attempts at modern adaptations of the Fraktur fonts. We offer Metalista in three styles, or rather three widths to be exact: Speed is inspired by the frenetic pace of speed metal from the 70s and 80s, and can say a lot even in a very small space; Death uncompromisingly walks the fine line between expression and readability; and Metalista Black is the universal reference, whether it’s megalomaniacal titles spread across the entire cover of an LP or tiny texts for glam rock CD booklets.
